Work on The Moat
Notice to Residents
Following a drainage survey carried out in January 2025, the Lincolnshire County Council (L.C.C.) Flood Resilience Team recommended that moat be cleared of excess vegetation. The Welbourn Parish Council resolved to approve this recommendation. The L.C.C. has arranged for The Moat to be cleared by the Witham 3rd Internal Drainage Board (I.D.B.). This work has been funded by Lincolnshire County Council Floods Resilience Team on a one-off basis.
I.D.B. has given notice of the commencement of the works to Historic England (H.E.) and will be complying with the conditions stipulated by H.E.
The works commence on
Monday 12 October 2026.
