RESERVOIR LATEST

It’s been confirmed by Government this week that the reservoir planned for NKDC and another in the Fens in Cambridgeshire are to be taken forward as Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects and decided on by The Secretary of State.

It was not set for any local determination through NKDC planning functions.

That being said the Council continues to follow the statutory process that’s required in readiness for the determination by the Secretary of

State to take place in hosting the timescale set out. This includes responding as a key consultee and helping to ensure important issues are at the forefront of discussion including for example suitable shared community benefits for the places hosting nationally significant schemes such as this if approved.
