CAR PARKING COGGLESFORD WATER MILL
The Car park adjacent to Cogglesford Water Mill is closed until 4th March to facilitate the resurfacing of footpaths between the Mill and Boston Road.
Many of us have enjoyed a stroll along the River Slea but have also probably noticed that it’s needed some maintenance and improvement. The work will make an accessible path for buggies and wheelchairs, as well as walkers, connecting the Riverside area with residential areas around Boston Road.
NATIONAL APPRENTICESHIP WEEK
The National Apprenticeship Week NKDC are preparing for their next intake of Apprentices to join them later in the year, working with training advisors to source courses that will support the ambitions of the Council, as well as providing additional employment opportunities.
The programme allows an apprentice to learn new skills, gain relevant experience in the workplace, earn a salary, and obtain a nationally recognised qualification to support their future employment aspirations.
During the placement, the Apprentice cohort are tasked with a group project, that they present to NKDC Senior Management Team. This allows their apprentices to connect with each other and learn teamwork, time-management, and presentation skills.
They meet with the Executive Board to discuss their project and learn more about the Council and its democratic process.
Apprentices are also supported, not only by their immediate departmental team, but by a “buddy” – usually a former apprentice and a “mentor” – someone from another department who they can speak with to discuss their project, career opportunities and NKDC culture and values.
EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES
NKDC have a number of employment opportunities currently advertised. To find out more please visit the NKDC website.
Best Wishes
